A couple of weeks ago, we received two envelopes from the US State Department containing brand new passports for both kids. Although we have traveled all over the USA, we have never traveled out of the country with either of our children. But that is soon about to change, so it was time to get passports right away.
What exciting international travel do we have planned? We will be heading to Hong Kong in May with my daughter, who will be turning five a few weeks before the trip. Hong Kong Disneyland, anyone?
Then, in June, we will be flying to Montreal with both kids in order to attend a family wedding in Burlington, Vermont. Stay tuned for trip reports in the coming months!
I'm happy to report that the whole passport application process was fairly easy and quick. The hardest part was getting a three month old baby photographed per the requirements. (The results, as you can see, are a pretty funny photo that will entertain us for the next five years that the passport is valid.)
If you are looking to get passports for your own children, some of my other favorite family travel bloggers have written extensive "how-to" guides that helped me in the process and will hopefully help you too.

Yay! Thanks for the link back 🙂 And I can't wait to hear about Hong Kong, so exciting! I am jealous of West Coasters who can travel more easily to Asia than we can!
