Although the vast majority of my travel advice can be found right here on Trips With Tykes, I also write for a few other blogs on travel topics. I’m a regular writer on TravelingMom.com (see my articles published as Frequent Flyer TravelingMom) and am also a contributor to the parenting advice site, Hint Mama.
Here are a few of the stories I’ve had published on those sites in recent days. They are full of advice for travel all over the great state of California, whether you are headed to San Francisco, the ski slopes of Lake Tahoe, or Disneyland!
- Transit in San Francisco: Getting Around the City by the Bay: If you are planning to visit the San Francisco Bay Area, it is important to get educated on our multitude of transportation options. After living in the Bay Area for 10 years (5 years in San Francisco and 5 years in the East Bay), I know the transit choices well. In this post on TravelingMom.com, I give an overview of all the Bay Area transit choices, from BART to bike sharing and from cable cars to CalTrain.
- Today’s Hint: 4 Tips for Saving on Ski Gear for Kids: Skiing can be an extraordinarily expensive hobby, particularly if you have to buy new gear all the time as your little ones grow. In this post, I offer some ideas for saving on ski gear even when growth spurts threaten to bust your budget.
- Choosing a Hotel at Disneyland: Disney-Owned vs. Off-Property: Before each trip to Disneyland, my family carefully crunches the numbers and surveys our travel needs before choosing a hotel in the area. In this post, I offer tips and explain the factors you should consider before deciding to stay at a Disney-owned hotel or one of the nearby “Good Neighbor” hotels operated by others.
